Black Friday

Police said about 2,000 people were gathered outside the Wal-Mart doors before its 5 a.m. opening at a mall about 20 miles east of Manhattan. The impatient crowd knocked the employee, identified by police as Jdimytai Damour, to the ground as he opened the doors, leaving a metal portion of the frame crumpled like an accordion.

And what were the deals?  They didn’t look that significant, especially in light of what happened:

Items on sale at the Valley Stream Wal-Mart included a Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV for $798, a Bissel Compact Upright Vacuum for $28, a Samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as “The Incredible Hulk” for $9.

As I watched the news this morning I became utterly disgusted! The Headlines today about how a young worker died as people trampled him, walked on him, while other workers tried to help, they where knocked over too.  The new is calling it a “death”, I am calling it murder!

A murder because you cannot tell me, these people did not see what they where doing. If you step on something you look down, do you not? I have heard some where laughing at this young man too. People kept shopping and yelled when they were told the store was closing because of the murder of this young man.

It started before the doors opened for shopping, people started to brake down the door. I seen glass all over the ground. I was all so surprised to see people with gifts in their shopping carts outside the store. Now, these people had to know what was going on, yet continued to shop, then bought those items? I hope it was will worth the money they saved. I hope they can tell that to the loved ones this young man left behind!

Is this what Christmas is all about? Killing to get into a store, fighting at Toys R Us, bringing guns into a Toys R Us store? No care for other people any more, no care for the children. There is no reason that is good enough for me to hear, not one!

I can only hope the loved ones of that young man go after all those who trampled him, who killed their loved, with murder charges. You might say murder charges are a bit to much. I say no way! People for way to long now have gone with out dealing with there actions. I am not talking about actions that get you put in jail. The actions I am talking about is, how we treat others! Is this going to be the new norm for us? Get what you want in anyway possible? If you have to lie, steal, and cheat? Did those people not lie, steal and cheat?

They lied about Christmas and what it is all about, they lied to them selves, to their children. They took a life, it did not belong to them. They cheated many out of the spirit of Christmas, cheated a family out of spending holidays with their loved one. He will never be at the dinner table, never celebrate Christmas, he is gone from this world.

I have been saying for awhile now about how all morals and values have gone out of so many hearts. Yesterday is still un real for me to believe, but it happened. For why, to save a few bucks!? Money does make many people evil, this is the proof of that fact.

I for one will not be shopping in any Wal Mart, in any big named store this holiday season, nor do I think I will for many years to come. I will shop at my local stores, the small town stores, where people still care for others. I will keep those left behind in this senseless murder in my prayers, and remember him on Christmas with prayers. I will never go shopping on “Black Friday.” Those people that trampled on that young man do not deserve to spend Christmas with their families. They deserve to be behind bars!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today we ate good and are all stuffed like the Thanksgiving turkey. My husband and his family go out deer hunting and come home to a wonderful dinner. That is our tradition in the family, and has been tradition since I can remember. We are very blessed my husband and I, with family and friends for all the holidays.

We also had our winter weather start tonight. This afternoon we had freezing drizzle, that did not make for nice driving, trust me. Tonight it is snowing and the wind is blowing the snow around. We do need a lot more snow then what we have.

The first ice is on the lakes and some of my family are all ready fishing. Now for me, I need a lot more ice on the lakes. Fishing is always good at first ice, as we call it. We will be out on the lakes soon fishing too.

Now we can all say, “think snow.”

Betraying The Constitution?

I found this on Fox News.

Bailouts violate the Equal Protection doctrine because the Congress can’t fairly pick and choose who to bail out and who to let expire.

My head is spinning! It goes on to say this:

But history will be angry at them and their colleagues for betraying the Constitution. Their attitude underscores the reasons that the Constitution does not repose in the Congress the power to bail out individuals or private industry: Bailouts violate the Equal Protection doctrine because the Congress can’t fairly pick and choose who to bail out and who to let expire; they violate the General Welfare Clause because they benefit only a small group and not the general public; they violate the Due Process Clause because they interfere with contracts already entered into; and they turn the public treasury into a public trough. Worse still, Congress lacks the power to let someone else decide how to spend the peoples’ money.

This is the first time I have heard of this, sorry if this is old news. I all so have to say, I have not read anything but this news bite I so happend to come across. Since I am such a news geek I will be looking in to this more.

With Thanksgiving a day away, I notice in our local paper, in the news, on the web, people talking about what they are thankful for.

The holiday season is now, well, here for more of a simple wording. It seems people have allot of time on their hands this season. I see on the news, read on my new sites I like to go on, all kinds of people fighting over Thanksgiving, fighting over the word Christmas. We some how have became so annal, so afraid of hurting some ones feelings, but at the same time not caringabout any one. I find this whole having to be PC, a group of people having nothing else better to do then rain on some one elses parade.

I ask myself why? What causes some one to protest a play a group of children put together? Not only on Thanksgiving, no, they will not get a lot of TV time. We now have to go after Christmas, and all holidays. We have to say, “happy holidays” or the plays the children make are called “winter celebration,” or some other saying to that affect.

What is all this fighting by grown adults doing to our country? How is any of this helping our children? I mean there is this huge elephant in the room and no one is doing anything about it. What ever happened to keeping our mouth shut? Can we really no do that anymore, are we so strived for attention? Is that not what this is really all about, attention.

If no one would pay any attention to these people, they would just go away. All it took was one letter to a school, one letter, I repeat, one letter! Now what one person did is plastered all over the news. Next month is Christmas, we all know we will hear more of the same, as we all ready are. All it takes is one person who has to make their views, their ways, to ruin it for the rest of us. It is really simple if you do not agree with Thanksgiving, with the word Christmas, do not go to the fireworks, the parade, the wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Do not ruin it for the rest of us.

I guess that is what I am thankful for. My country, my freedom of speech, the holidays I can celebrate with my family and loved ones. This is our country! We can at times put our differences behind us and learn to respect one another.

As I like to say, I find is so much easier to love then to hate. Hate is nothing but a waste.

Owning A Gun

With the gun deer season opening tomorrow in Wisconsin, I had to post about this, and ask my self the same question, why?

Fine, Obama is going to be our next president, and no, he is not who I voted for. We are a republican town up here, we do own guns, and we do use guns to hunt, as we also eat the that food we hunt for. So, please tell me why in all the questions, what does it matter if someone owns a gun?

But even some Democrats and transition experts are baffled by the inclusion of the question.

Tucked in at the end of the questionnaire and listed under “Miscellaneous,” it reads: “Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.” …

It’s just one question on a lengthy personnel form — No. 59 on a 63-question list — but the furor over the query is a vivid reminder of the intensity of support for Second Amendment rights and signals the scrutiny Obama is likely to receive from the ever-vigilant gun lobby.

Obama’s transition team declined to go into detail on why they included the question, suggesting only that it was done to ensure potential appointees were in line with gun laws.

Cold And Deer Hunting Season

This weekend we start the great Wisconsin deer season. We have all these little orange men walking around in the woods.

My husband is a deer hunter, I come from a long family line of hunters. I have even gone out a few times with my husband. I found out real soon, girl in woods, cold, no place to pee! Dont get me wrong, I do live in the north woods, and can and will pee outside. With us woman, it is not as easy as just whipping it out and peeing not towards the wind. And, when there is snow on the ground, no place for me to hang on to so I do not fall over and get my butt wet and very, very, cold.

This deer season, it is going to be a good old fashion deer season. The last, as least five years or so, the weather had been to warm and no snow on the ground. The guys and gals to do not like to hunt when it is raining, and the temps are above freezing. First, no snow to track the deer, second, if you do get a deer you need to get it in right away for processing. No one likes to have a smelling deer! I do not think no one wants to eat that deer either.

This year that lake snow kicked in and we are lucky to have a few inches on the ground. Not all places, even a few miles south have snow.  That is one thing with lake affect snow. We can have a blizzard here, you can go five miles into town and the sun is out with not a snow flake to be found.

The winter season sure has not started the same time it did even five years ago. No, we are now lucky to have snow at Christmas or the first of January. We need the snow up here, we depend on the snow to make a living. No snow, means no one coming up to snowmobile, nor us living here snowmobiling. We depend on hot sunny summers, cold snowy winters. We do not have any industries up her and that is the way the town board wants it to stay! Not us who have to make our money by working! With what is going on all over the country right now, we all up north are hurting. But, we will make it, we are a tough bunch of folks that live up here. We are not afraid to get our hands dirty, we help out each other, we are also big givers.

Until next time………………….

Thoughts For The Day

Today in the news more about how we are going in the hole, how we mess up all the time. Seems like sometime, it is how stupid we are or how much more stupid we can get.

Does that not piss you off? I know for me it does. We are not as stupid as the MSM would like us to think we are. We know that the big companies are screwing us. We know the banks gave out way to much money to people. We know that we have to pay for others mistakes. We are all so pissed too! Mad that the MSM can either tell the truth or pull things out of their asses. If anyone does take note, I have lost trust in the Main Stream Media. (MSM) We have all this gloom and doom, and if they report it, is it not true? The MSM would like us all to think so.

My First Post and Thoughts

I love to write and I love to blog. What I do not have is a blog that I write and post about everything. This is what I want this blog to be about.

This is my first try at Word Press. It might take some time for me to learn all the stuff WP has to offer. I do have to say, I really like the ease of the set up, and going through all it does have to offer, this might be the one and only place I will blog.

I live in a small town called Eagle River. We are the North Woods of Wisconsin. We are only a few miles from the U.P. I do truly believe this is Gods country up north here, from our forests, to our lakes, and the great folks, cannot forget the changing seasons too. Making a living here is not easy, no, it is hard, but no amouny of money could ever make me move. I grew up here, and I will grow old here.

I love to write about the weather, the news, and anything that catches my fancy I guess you could say. Living in the north, weather is a great part of our life. Living in the snow belt, let me tell you, snow is a really big part of our life, and also our living. Weather is something in our small town we depend on to make a living, make our money as we cator to vacationers. We depend on these folks to come up here and spend money so we can make money.

I am a huge news buff. I now tend to stay away from main stream media as it has changed so much and not for the better. Now, I only get my news from a few select web sites that I trust.

I have and married in to a very big family. OH we can have some fun times and some sad times. Having a big family has its ups and downs, but I am so very blessed by them all. What is that saying? ” It takes all kinds to make the world go around?” That describes our family to a tee.

Those are just some of the things I love to write about. I do not only write on my computer, or a website. I also love the good old pen and paper. There is nothing like the feel, the smell, the sight, of writing with a pen and paper for me anyway.  I have bins full of notebooks dating back from when I was just a little girl. I started writing at a very young age, ever since I can remember I have loved to write. Now, only if my grammer and spelling skills where good.

I hope to post something every day. No matter how small or big, even if it is just a few words that make only a sentence.  I have some more learning to do on WP, as I said before, seems like an awesome site and cannot wait to really get started and going posting here.

NW. Gal.
